A few weekends back, my family and I spontaneously booked a stay at the Hilton Waikoloa. We went for the first ever Ube Festival that was held in the hotel’s ballroom. If you’re wondering about this, maybe I’ll do a separate post? Anyways, I had just downloaded the film camera app, “HUJI Cam,” and decided I’d have some fun with it while wandering around for the weekend. I don’t have a film camera (yet..?), but this is really making me itch for one!
Please enjoy some of my favorite captures:
May I introduce you to the newest cafe to my list of loves: Da Kine Coffee. Run by a sweet family just on the side of the road, Da Kine Coffee serves up a number of drinks and some refreshing açai bowls! I want the Papaya Bowl simply because it looks stunning! I settled for two drinks here instead.. Oops! Want something a bit salty? They have that too! Try a sandwich, or even better– a panini?
I ended up getting the Brown Cow.. And later added on an order of the Li Hing Mui POG drink~ Here’s a tip: Ask them to add some ice cream to it and blend it up! You won’t regret it. Trust me.

Unfortunately, we only got to enjoy one sunset during our stay. However, I made sure to soak up every single ounce of it. I sat on the grass in a big open area, and before I knew it, others walking by followed my lead. This adorable couple next to me was in awe of the view the entire time. I don’t blame them! I couldn’t help but to snap a picture of them before walking away. I love seeing people enjoy such simple things in life.
Like I said, the trip was short and we didn’t have too much time to chill. That said, I did the best I could. I watched the dolphins, I walked along the pool, I laid in my bed.. And I even swung on this hammock for a bit! I remember being 5 years old and absolutely LOVING the hammocks here. And honestly..? Nothing’s changed. Can’t wait to make my way back here, hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks, Hilton!
